Danish Honeymoon in Southern California
Solvang, meaning “sunny field” was founded in 1911 by a small group of Danish refugees. It is located in the Santa Ynez Valley, about 45 miles northwest of Santa Barbara and in the heart of wine country. The charming town has traditional Danish architecture with windmills, gas lamps and cobblestone walks. There are genuine Dutch bakeries and over 300 shops that sell Danish goods, arts and crafts.
